Alzeimer's/Dementia Caregivers Support Group -
An area-wide support group for Alzheimer's and/or Dementia is available
through a program at Bethany United Methodist Church. Please contact Rev. David Lutz at 512-258-6017 for more information about meetings
and available programs.
The House of Friends is a ministry project supported by members of Hope Presbyterian Church.
This program is offered free of charge to individuals with dementia who are being cared for at home by
family members. It is a weekly program designed to give the family caregiver a four-hour respite.
Participants interact socially with others in a highly structured but caring mode. The goal is to support
the family so that institutionalization can be postponed. The program meets Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Activities include social time, active group and quiet games, arts and crafts, singing, worship, pet therapy,
exercise, entertainment, small group sharing, and lunch. Please contact Shurley Robinson to volunteer
and support this worthwhile ministry.
