Lisa Chung in Recital at Hope on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. - This
is a special opportunity to hear Lisa play more extended works that
demonstrate her technical skill and musical artistry. She is playing this
recital in partial fulfillment of her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree
within the coming year. Program highlights include Prelude and Fugue in F
major by Dieterich Buxtehude; Dorian Toccata by J.S. Bach; Prelude et Fugue sur le mon d'Alain,
Op. 7 by Maurice Durufle; and "The World Awaiting the
Savior," the first movement from Symphonie Passion by Marcel Dupré. Come
hear this incredibly beautiful music played on the organ at Hope by our
outstanding organist. There is no admission charge, and everyone is
cordially invited.
Operation Interdependence is on the move! Packing Parties will now be
held on the FIRST Saturday of each month in the Gym. They will NOT meet on
Nov. 24. The next party will be Saturday, Dec. 1.
Many Hands Needed - Monday, Nov. 26 at 9:00 a.m. many hands are
needed to prepare the monthly newsletter and the Offering Envelopes. No
experience needed just go to the Multi-purpose room to volunteer!
Poinsettias for Advent - Help decorate the sanctuary this Christmas! Each
poinsettia is $10 and will be displayed in the Sanctuary from Sunday, Dec. 2 through
the 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service. Your dedication/payment envelope is
located on the poster in the Narthex and may be returned to the church
office or placed in the offering plate.
Hill Country Christmas Bureau Giving Tree - Our Hope Church family will
once again participate in the Hill Country Christmas Bureau's Giving Tree
program. We have the opportunity to share the gift of hope with other
families in need in our area. You have the opportunity to choose a tag from
the tree and purchase a toy for a child or a gift for an elderly member of
our needy community. Please bring the gift unwrapped and place it under the
tree by Sunday morning, Dec. 16. If you prefer, you may take an envelope to
make a monetary donation. Thank you for your generous display of love in our

Birthday Party for Jesus - Attention All Parents of Kids 4 Years Old
(must be potty trained) through 5th Grade Want to get some Christmas
Shopping done without your kids? The Hope Youth are sponsoring a Birthday
Party for Jesus on Saturday, Dec. 1, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. We provide games,
food, and lots of fun for your kids so you can have some time off. Simply
sign up and we'll take care of the rest! There is no charge for this event.
We will combine with the Children's Choirs for lunch, and children in the
choirs are welcome to stay and play until 1:00 p.m. PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS
EVENT! Sign up on the Children's Ministry Board in the Fellowship
Hall.
Breakfast with Santa is Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8:30 a.m. in the
Fellowship Hall. Please register using the insert in the Sunday bulletin
prior to December 3. Bring your camera to capture the special moment when
your child meets Santa!!! The Men of Hope have worked hard to get Santa to
arrange this special stop at Hope, so be sure to get this important visit on
your busy calendar.
The Family Advent Celebration is Sunday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. in the
sanctuary. This year's service is "The Gifts of Christmas,"
featuring
seven gifts that we enjoy during this season: Hope, Joy, Peace, Love, Music,
Laughter, and Memory. More than 100 children and youth will share their
talents through singing, speaking, dancing, and instrumental playing,
including four handbell groups. Included is the first appearance of this
year's PraisePals Choir, Hope's Preschool group. Join us as we celebrate the
beginning of Advent and Christmas with the sounds and sights of children and
youth!
