Is Online Giving secure?

We’ve taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. All of your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer,” a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions.

Will I still receive a contribution statement?

Yes, you will receive a mid-year statement in July and an annual statement in January.

There is an option to “Create an Account” on the giving page. What are the advantages of creating an account?
Creating an account gives you the ability to view your online giving history, set up recurring gifts, save payment profiles (which allows your payment information to be saved so you won’t have to enter it every time you wish to make an online gift), and the ability to login quickly with a password.

What if I change banks or want to adjust the date or amount of a contribution?

You can edit or delete a scheduled contribution at anytime, including the bank routing number, account number, date, fund, frequency and amount after logging in.

How do I update my address?

Unfortunately, you are not able to update your address through your online giving account. Please contact us in order to have it updated. You can email or call 512-258-9117.

Can I make a one-time contribution?

Yes. Our system allows you to make a one-time contribution or set up a recurring contribution. For a one-time contribution, you can designate that the contribution should be made immediately or you can schedule the contributions to come out of your chosen account on the date specified by you.

If I want to setup a recurring gift, what are my options for scheduling?

For recurring gifts, you have the option of giving once a week, once every two weeks, once a month, twice a month or once a quarter. You can set up multiple recurring contributions according to your preference.

What types of accounts can I give from?

You can give online from your checking account, savings account, debit card, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.

Which budget account do I choose?

When you give online, you will have the following funds to choose from: Operating Fund, Music Ministry, Children and Youth or other areas in the Designated Fund. Operating Fund directs funds towards Hope’s operating budget and your pledge. If you donate to the Music Ministry, Children and Youth or the Designated Fund please specify in the Notes section specifically where the donation should be directed.

Are there any fees involved with giving online?

No, you will not pay any fees when giving online.

Are there any church fees involved with online giving?

Yes. The church pays a nominal $0.24 per transaction fee for each online gift from a checking or savings account. The church pays a normal 2.28% merchant fee for each online gift from a credit or debit card. Because of this fee, we would discourage the use of credit or debit cards when making very large gifts if the donor has other payment options available.

Can I review my donation history online?

Yes. After setting up an account, the online giving site allows you to view the history of your online giving. Please note that any contributions you make with a regular check or cash will not be reflected on your online record and therefore you should not use your online giving history for tax purposes. We will include your online giving in your yearly contribution statement, which will include all gifts to the church.

When will contributions be taken from my account?

Contributions will be taken from your specified account within 48 business hours of the date you requested, and will be deposited directly into the church’s bank account. This time-frame allows time for the contribution to process through your bank and the church’s bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day.

How will I know that I set up my gift/account correctly?

Immediately after submitting your contribution, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from our online service provider, SimpleGive.

Does it matter which Internet browser I use?

No. Any browser will work.

For any questions, concerns or comments about the online giving system please contact the church office and you will receive a response from our financial team as soon as possible.

How can I pay online but avoid having the church pay fees on my payment?

Setting up an automatic recurring or one-time payment through your own bank’s online bill pay is a great way to give for several reasons:

1. It makes giving a priority because you can set it up to give first instead of what is left over.
2. It helps you stay consistent in your giving, even when you are away.
3. It is a free service to you and it doesn’t cost the church anything to process
