Hope Presbyterian Church began our Prayer Shawl Ministry in early 2011. More than 680 shawls have been knitted and crocheted. They have been given to people in dozens of states and several other countries who need the warmth and comfort they bring due to illness, grief, or concern.
Anyone may request a shawl to give to a loved one, neighbor, friend, or acquaintance by contacting the church office.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in the MPR. Gatherings are held in the morning (9:30 – 11:00 a.m.) We gather to work on our shawls, learn new techniques, and help teach and encourage beginners. Everyone is welcome, including those who have never picked up knitting needles or a crochet hook and would like to learn.
Visit the Prayer Shawl Ministry bulletin board in the Fellowship Center to see the evidence of how God’s love is spread through yarn!
